Farmer’s Markets in St. Paul
Welcome Back!
After dedicating a post to farmers markets in Minneapolis, I wanted to do one for St. Paul as well. As I researched for this post, I came across a very comprehensive and easy to use website about a large number of farmers markets in and around St. Paul and the surrounding suburbs (including Burnsville, Lakeville, Maplewood, Hugo, Woodbury, Falcon Heights, Rosemount, Andover, and South St. Paul). In addition to info about the different markets (many of which will continue to run for several weeks or more), there is also a helpful map showing the locations of all of the markets and giving info about their days and hours of operation. In the list of markets, clicking on the name of a market will lead you to a map of only that market’s location. Rather than attempt to recreate a reasonable facsimile of the list of markets here, I figured I would just link directly to the St. Paul Farmers Market site.
All of the markets on that site feature produce from local growers.
And folks in Minneapolis - a number of the St. Paul area markets run longer than Minneapolis markets, so even if your local market is done for the year, you may still be able to shop at a St. Paul market. The St. Paul Downtown Winter Market runs from the end of November through April!
As always - many of these markets are accessible via public transportation and bike.
If anyone knows of any St. Paul farmers markets that are not mentioned on the St. Paul Farmer’s market website please leave a comment and I will add the unmentioned market(s) to this post.
Mouthwatering fruits and vegetables and beautiful scenery await you at the 7th Place Farmers Market in St. Paul. Don’t let the name mislead you though… it is not so named because there are six better markets, but because 7th Place is the name of the street where the market is held. Enjoy the scrumptious rewards of buying delicious produce and supporting local growers and the environment all at the same time. Bon Appetit!
